Q: “ Are your diet products kosher? Under what supervision?”
A: Several of our products are kosher, but not all. The following items have been certified by strict rabbinical supervision: all HMR 120, HMR 500, HMR 800 (chocolate and vanilla only), HMR 70Plus products, and BeneFit® bars: peanut butter, honey graham, blueberry, and oatmeal raisin. Please note however, that HMR products are not Kosher for Passover. If interested, we have an Official Certificate of Kashruth available for review.

Q: “ I am going on a plane trip and want to carry HMR 70Plus diet packets with me. What is the best way to pack them so that they won't burst? ”
A: I commonly travel with HMR 70Plus. I use large gallon sized zipper bags to carry my HMR products. I also pack Benefit Bars as well. I have never had any of them burst due to air pressure changes on a plane. Yesterday I had 2 packets of HMR Vanilla 70Plus with ~10 frozen cherries and it was delicious. So don't worry about your products and enjoy your trip!

Q: “ Are your diet foods high in salt? I'm on a low sodium diet. ”
A: Our Healthy Solutions® diet is low salt, typically 2 gms (or 2000 mgs) of sodium or less daily. A single serving of HMR 120 is 230 mg., clearly within the guidelines of a low salt diet. However, it depends on how many items are consumed. It also depends on how the fruit and vegetables are prepared.

Q: “ How many grams of sugar are in your HMR 500 shakes? ”
A: HMR 500 has 15 grams of sugar per serving, HMR 120 has 13 grams of sugar per serving, so they are low in refined carbohydrates.

Q: “My child is in the 55th percentile for height, but off the charts (over 100th percentile) for weight. My pediatrician said not to worry about her weight - but I do? Can my child do this diet?”
A: No, the recommendations of your pediatrician come first. However, most children today will not lose that “baby fat” unless they change their lifestyle! Start by having healthier foods around the house – it will be good for all of you. Get rid of high fat, sugary foods, and bring in more fruits and vegetables, lower fat puddings and BeneFit bars. Kids love these! If you cut up fruits for snacks, or have grapes sitting out within easy reach – they’ll eat them. Shut off the computer and get the TV out of their bedroom. Take a fast walk with them each evening after dinner. Cut out sodas and no supersizing on fast foods! You’ll see that weight start to drop just by following these simple ideas. Because children have special dietary needs, they should not rely solely on HMR foods for their nutritional needs without supervision by a physician.
